Guide to resources in physics and astronomy at EIU's Booth Library

Find books

Like reference resources, books are also a great place to begin researching a topic. Look at the table of contents for relevant chapters. The introductory or concluding chapter may provide a good summary of the topic at hand.

Begin your search for books in the search box below. Start by typing in the topic you are researching. Try doing a title search -- you will see results with your topic appearing in the book or chapter titles.

Booth Library - Search for Books

Clicking on a title of interest from your results page gives you more detailed information about the book (see image below).

  • Details will display the book's summary and table of contents, along with relevant subjects and other descriptive information about the item.
  • Citation will provide an auto-formatted citation for a handful of citation styles.
  • Under Get it, use the call number to find the book in the library. Click on Locate to view the item mapped within the building.

Ask your Physics librarian, Kirstin Duffin, for assistance (contact information in the left-hand column of this page).
