The Center for Student Innovation (CSI) and Library Technology Services (LTS) offer equipment and training to accomplish you and your students media creation projects for academic assignment, research projects or presentations.

Welcome to the Center for Student Innovation Technology and Programming Training Page! Here we will describe the tutorials offered by the Center for Student Innovation on using the technology within and the programs offered by the university. 

Podcasting

For Fall of 2024, we are hosting three Podcasting 101 workshops that will be taught by the graduate assistants. They will go over how to use our RODECaster Pro soundboards and the basics of using Audacity to modify sound. If you want a more in depth look at sound programs, we will be offering a Learning Lab focused on using Adobe Audition and Audacity. 3D Printing

For 3D Printing, we will have three 101 workshops taught by the graduate assistants. They will go over what models of 3D printers we have and what you can do with them. They will also show where to find designs, what file types are needed, and how to prepare a file for the printer. If you want to explore how to design your own 3D objects, we have a Learning Lab about Basic 3D Design. In this lab, we will cover how to use TinkerCad and Adobe 3D Modeling Programs to make 3D designs and how to make a 2D design into a 3D one through Adobe Illustrator. You can register for the event at Basic 3D Design - LibCal - Eastern Illinois University Booth Library

Green Screen

For using the Green Screen, we have a Green Screen 101. This workshop will cover how to set up the lighting in the Creative Reality Lab / Immersive Media Studio, to position people for the photos, and to select optimal background photos. To register, click on the following link: CSI Equipment Workshops: Center for Student Innovation at Booth Library (eiu.edu)

To learn how to make the photos and videos using custom backgrounds, you can attend our learning lab on Green Screen Video and Image Production. The lab will cover how to remove backgrounds from images and videos and replace them with your own backgrounds. You can also have premade backgrounds with logos for souvenir type shots. Adobe Express

Do you want to create social media posts, posters, flyers? Attend our Learning Lab on Adobe Express for Creative Works! Through this lab, we will use the streamlined programs to create various media.
