What are Health Stats?
Before you begin searching, it will be helpful to review the tutorial Finding and Using Health Statistics from the National Library of Medicine, National Information Center on Health Services Research and Health Care Technology. This will help you understand what agencies collect statistics, what the limitations are, and what types of data may be available.

- America's Health RankingsFor three decades, America’s Health Rankings has provided an analysis of national health on a state-by-state basis by evaluating a historical and comprehensive set of health, environmental and socioeconomic data to determine national health benchmarks and state rankings.
- CDC WonderWONDER online databases utilize a rich ad-hoc query system for the analysis of public health data. Reports and other query systems are also available.

- Healthy People 2020Healthy People 2020 includes over 1,200 objectives to monitor and improve the health of all Americans over the decade.

Children and Adolescents
- Data Resource Center for Child and Adolescent HealthIncludes data on children with special needs. Data are collected from parents and thus contribute a much-needed voice in the drive to improve health system performance for children, youth and families.
- Youth Online - High School YRBSSYouth Online lets you analyze national, state, and local Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS) data from high school and middle school surveys conducted during 1991 – 2019 and Global School-based Student Health Survey (GSHS) data from students aged 13-17 conducted during 2003 – 2015. YRBSS data can be filtered and sorted on the basis of race/ethnicity, sex, academic grade, and sexual orientation while GSHS data can be filtered and sorted on sex and age. Additionally you can filter and sort both surveys by location and year, create customized tables, maps, graphs, and perform statistical tests by location and health topic.
