Philosophy & Religion

Welcome

Welcome!

This guide was created for Philosophy & Religion students. It will help you navigate through several types of research materials, including Reference, Books and Scholarly articles for different assignments. The tabs on the left point you to resources you will probably need when completing papers and projects.

If you need assistance along the way, there are many ways to access help from the EIU Research Librarians. We are available to help you via

Browsing

The Library of Congress Classification System arranges books by Subject, so browsing the shelves in Reference (3000 Level, Booth Library) or in the book stacks (3000 Level, Booth Library) in these call number areas will introduce you to the collection in Philosophy & Religion. Browsing the collection is a great strategy for locating topics and ideas in your area of study when you are in the developing stages of research or need additional material on a specific topic you have already selected.

This is a very large collection, so use the online catalog to locate titles on specific subjects, for example: "Kant and Ethics."
