UF 1111 - Choose Your Own Adventure at Booth Library Project

Project Directions

Throughout the semester you will engage with different ways to learn all that Booth Library offers students at EIU, including the People, Resources and Spaces. You will create a PowerPoint slide deck with five (5) professional slides as your final project to prove your findings, worth 100 points. The final slide show must include:

• A title slide with your name, instructor's name, class day and time.
• Two (2) journal slides with the completion certificates for two (2) LibWizard tutorials
• A journal slide with selfie picture from one (1) Booth Library event you attended throughout the semester. 
• A journal slide with a selfie picture about a space or spaces in Booth Library that are conducive to your study style.
• Must be polished and professional in presentation.

Project Expectations

• This project is valued at 100 points

• Each slide is worth 20 points, 80 points total and should consist of a title, 1 paragraph journal entry, selfie or completion certificate image
  • For each journal paragraph (4-6 sentences) you may use the starter "This library experience will help me be successful because..." and then talk about what you learned in the experience and how it will help you this year.
  • For example "The library experience of Tutorial #1 will help me be successful because I learned in the tutorial when I can find a librarian at the 3rd floor desk. It made me feel better to know someone is there almost all the time and that they can help me with locating articles, thinking about a project topic and even just locating a book in the stacks. I am often nervous in libraries because they are overwhelming and I feel like I am expected to do it all myself. Now I know where to go for help and that they actually want me to succeed."
• This project should be polished and professional in nature - 20 points
  • correct spelling, punctuation and sentence structure are a must
  • consider your design elements/fonts/color choices for consistency and ease of reading
