Tips for searching for reliable internet sources

Searching for quality, reliable internet sources can be overwhelming. Search for your major or career plus one of the following words: professional, association, or organization. Examples: accounting association; marketing professional.

One way to target a search in Google is to search only specific types of sites for career information. For example, if you want to search only .org sites, you can add that to your search by using: site:org. Examples: accounting association site:org; marketing professional site:org.

In 2022, Booth Library was a recipient of a Workforce Development Grant. We were able to purchase dozens of career guides with grant funds. Here are some links to some career guide series bought with the funds. You can also search the library catalog for the career you're interested in with the words career guide to see if we have a career guide on your chosen career.
