Edible Books Festival 2020

Edible Books Festival 2020

To launch the 2020 National Library Week celebration, Booth Library will be holding its tenth annual Edible Book Festival.

This year’s festival will be week-long, VIRTUAL event. Instead of bringing your edible book entry to Booth Library, you will submit photos of it for an online gallery and voting process. You can still have all the fun of creating your masterpiece but still maintain proper social distancing protocols to ensure everyone’s safety!

Submissions will be accepted through Monday, April 20, at 4pm. Voting will open at noon on Tuesday, April 21st, and close Saturday, April 25, at 4pm. Winners will be announced on Monday, April 27.

What is an edible book?
The Books2Eat website defines it as “edible art that has something to do with books as shapes and/or content.”

Who can participate?

EIU students, faculty, and staff as well as members of the surrounding community are encouraged to participate.

How can I participate?
The Edible Book Festival is free and open to the public. To enter the contest, just fill out the entry form.

What can I win?
Winners will be selected by popular vote, and gift-card prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
Entries from previous years can be viewed in The Keep, EIU’s institutional repository.
