Content: what is the purpose?
If the goals of the sponsors/authors aren’t clearly stated, then you should question the credibility of the site for accurate information.
- Is the web page designed to inform, sell, or persuade?
- Does it contribute to the literature in the field? In other words, it is an academic source that demonstrates how it fits into other research in that area?
- Does the article have a list of works cited? Are the references cited fin such a way that you can follow up on their sources if you wanted to?
- Can any stated results of research be verified through secondary sources like other research in the field of study?
