Communication Studies Research Methods - Undergraduate

Literature to broaden your scope

When starting your research you will be examining multiple types of resources and conducting dozens of searches. By looking for a large variety of materials in diverse avenues you create a strong knowledge base for yourself and have the opportunity to locate new and different perspectives on your topic.

Remember, the standards of books and scholarly journals are important, but so are alternative sources like:

  • Open Access Journals
  • National Associations
  • University Institutional Repositories
  • Google Scholar
  • Blogs

Remember to add these source ideas to your research calendar when organizing where you will look for materials.
