Getting started

This guide will help you navigate EIU Booth Library resources for physics. Use the menu on the left-hand side of the page to navigate between pages.

Within this guide, learn how to locate and navigate:

• background information on your physics topic (including encyclopedias and handbooks)
• scholarly journal articles and physics article databases

• interlibrary loan, to request items from other libraries

To jump right into searching for articles, start with these databases:

• ADS (Astrophysics Data System)

Includes citations with some full-text articles in astronomy, astrophysics, physics & geophysics. Includes arXiv e-prints. Note: E-prints may not be peer-reviewed.

• AIP Publishing

Includes citations with some full-text articles in all areas of the physical sciences, from the American Institute of Physics, AIP Publishing, and its publishing partners.

• Scopus

Includes citations with some full-text articles across science, technology, medicine, social sciences, and arts and humanities. Search for "cited by" references to find more current articles, as well as author and affiliation profiles.
